Integrative Education and Research Training: CBID at Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech’s Center for Biologically Inspired Design brings together a group of interdisciplinary biologists, engineers and physical scientists who seek to facilitate research, education, and training to promote and encourage biologically inspired design at all levels.

To encourage the next generation of scientists, engineers, architects and designers, we offer K12 curricular materials that present biological principles in the context of human problems and foster creativity, imagination and wonder about the natural world.

Current and prospective undergraduate students will find a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary courses emphasizing biology-engineering connections, and a certificate program in biologically inspired design. Prospective graduate students can participate in a variety of research projects at the intersection of biology and engineering in many different fields.

CBID also offers training for those who wish to use BID in education, or for professionals wanting to use BID to solve specific technical challenges, build internal capacity to engage in BID in their company, or simply learn more about the BID process.
